A 5 page contention that Speilburg's depiction of violence is a warranted tactic in a truly realistic portrayal of war. This movie is one of the most realistic ever produced on World War II and much of that realism is attributable to Speilburg's refusal to tone down the violence as so many filmmakers before him have done.
